Actually, that last bit isn't true, since I'm 30 and have a bachelor's degree in video production, but I DID see Interstellar last night, and it was breathtaking. This is our generation's 2001 , sans acid. Few storytellers can bend the heart and the mind so completely and in such equal measure as Christopher Nolan.

See it, guys. Shell out for the IMAX or 4K. It's worth it.

I'll see this joint. It's been more-or-less universally praised as "awesome, yet slightly corny in a good way."

I'm not sure that calling it our generation's 2001 will make people want to see it.

I wanted to see it in IMAX 70mm but the closest theater to me that's showing it is in Indianapolis and I live in Ohio.

Hmmm. This is a potential movie for my weekend. It really is worth it? I was worried because everyone on IMDB started reviewing the movie like a week before the release, and usually thats suspicious...

Excellent point. Correcting to "This is our generation's 2001 , sans acid."

That's a great theater, (I saw The Dark Knight there the day I graduated from college) but quite the trek. I saw it in generic 4K and it was still incredible.

I saw Dark Knight in a film Imax theater back in Tampa on opening night and it was epic. Sadly all the new theaters are terrible by comparison.

Oh, just saw that you're going to become an astronaut. Cool, I wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately the world is heading ass-backwards, we no longer have supersonic jetliners, the United States doesn't have a space program and the peak of human achievement is apparently being a metro, buying a McMansion or BMW or both, and morphing into some sort of hipster Gordon Gecko a-hole.

So being an astronaut is an excellent aspiration.

You're an Opponaut...that's like, halfway there. Right?

The US does have a space program. It's just not part of the government. Actually, the privitization of space travel may actually give me a shot at becoming an astronaut before I die.

Yeah. We need more real IMAX theaters.

I saw it in 35mm while traveling in LA and it was still awesome.

Um... the National Aeronautics and Space Administration does have a human space program. A big one. You might want to brush up on current events (and Google "Orion Spacecraft").

Definitely worth it. There are probably some holes in the science, but like I said, I only have a BA.

I wanted to see it on film, but no one in my area was playing it.

Actually, I've been reading that it's somewhat more hole-free than most "sci-fi" movies.

Well, crap. Now I need to convince my not-girlfriend into taking me, considering my stupid financial straits x_x. I was hoping all of this would blow over before the movie came out, or that it wouldn't be an IMAX-worthy film!! Oh, well...

Cool. Well, we are watching a movie, not a science documentary. So as long as you'd say the acting, writing, and that interesting hook factor are good, then im willing to forgive slight holes in the facts of science.

Yeah, the writing and delivery are exactly as excellent as you'd expect from Nolan.
